Accessibility: The main museum building is fully accessible with marked handicap parking, an accessible restroom, and elevator access to the second floor library. The 1758 Strong-Howard House is accessible via a ramp but does have narrow doorways and raised thresholds. Seating is provided throughout. The 1767 Chaffee House is not wheelchair accessible and can only be entered via three steps (with handrails) and a high threshold. Inside there are narrow doorways, thresholds, and limited seating.

Parking is available in front of our building, around the Palisado Green, or in the Windsor Discovery Center and Montessori School lot

The Windsor Historical Society, founded in 1921, preserves and interprets nearly 400 years of Windsor’s history through exhibitions, education programs, publications, active collecting, and research, providing our community with a connection to the past, a sense of belonging in the present, and responsibility for the future.
