DIGITAL COLLECTIONS DATABASE
Search and browse our photo, museum, library, and archival materials online at Connecticut Collections (CTCo), a statewide database of heritage and arts collections. CTCo is a resource for teachers, students, and other researchers looking for information and primary sources about the recent and distant history and material culture of the state.
About Connecticut Collections
Connecticut Collections is a statewide resource, so in addition to Windsor Historical Society’s collections, there are many records for items located elsewhere at other institutions. Keep that in mind when you receive results from your searches. If you would like to restrict your searches to just Windsor Historical Society collections, you can do so using the search filter for Institutions on the right side menu.
Another helpful search filter is “Has Media”, which if clicked, will only show records with images of the items.
Contributors to this project are geographically spread across the state. These institutions are at different stages in cataloging their collections, and some records may be very complete while some could be relatively sparse; new and updated material is added every day, so check back often for new material.
A note on the content. Given that these documents and collections are from a different era and from a variety of sources, some of the records may contain offensive and discriminatory language, or reflect outdated ideas, practice and analysis. By sharing collections with the public, CTCo’s member institutions invite dialogue with the public to review and update the records accordingly. Working on interpreting the past is something we are all working through.
