With Becky Hendricks.

Fall season is upon us, so let’s explore some of the ways our ancestors preserved/enjoyed the bounties of their gardens and farms. Let’s harvest, prepare and sample/take home: sauced apples, bread and butter pickles, pickled beets and eggs, red cabbage (the Dutch way), corn chowder, and dill beans.

Prepare scrumptious colonial dishes in the Strong-Howard House kitchen’s open hearth and bake oven under Becky’s expert tutelage. Sample each other’s creations, then take some leftovers home.

Pre-registration required. Each program is limited to 6 participants. Ages 10 and up. Max 2 participants per family.

Note: your registration date determines the order in which you get to pick amongst the selected dishes, so register early. $75 per person plus estimated $12-15 food costs, to be paid on the day of the program.
