Why was the Farmington River named one of the most endangered rivers in the country in 2024?

On May 29 at 6:30 pm, join Windsor Historical Society, the Nature Conservancy, and the Farmington River Watershed Association for a presentation on Windsor’s relationship to the Farmington River, the mighty shad, and the Rainbow Dam.

Why does Windsor celebrate the shad? How did the town of Windsor power the City of Hartford? Come listen, look back, and learn in order to find a way to ensure that “the shad always return”.

Pre-registration encouraged. $10, or $5 for members of Windsor Historical Society, The Nature Conservancy, and the Farmington River Watershed Association.
