Dear Windsor Community Members,

I am writing to announce an important leadership transition at the Windsor Historical Society (WHS). Christine Ermenc, our amazing executive director who has built WHS into the award-winning community asset that it is today, will be retiring March 1, 2020.

While we will not be saying good-bye to Christine right away, we do want to acknowledge the wonderful leadership that she has provided over the last nineteen years. Christine has done a stellar job building our organization into one that has become well known and well respected. She will leave behind a legacy of skillful leadership and advocacy that has had a significant impact on the lives of local residents and individuals far beyond our border.

The Board of Directors is taking careful steps to ensure that the WHS does not miss a beat in its important work throughout a smooth and successful transition. A transition committee chaired by Randy Graff is working closely with staff and our transition consultants from TSNE MissionWorks to guide the process. Christine will continue as executive director focusing her skills and expertise on moving the WHS forward and helping to prepare for a smooth transition. Over the next several months, our consultants will help us to conduct a thorough assessment of the organization to determine what is needed in the next phase of the WHS’s leadership.

In a few months, we will begin our search for a new permanent Executive Director. At that time, we will send out a formal job announcement. We encourage you to send us the names of persons you think would be good candidates for our Executive Director position. You can direct names, or any questions you have about the transition, to Randy Graff at graffri@comcast.net.

The Board and staff thank you for all the support and encouragement you have given over the years to the Windsor Historical Society. We trust our important partnership will continue and grow during our transition and well into the future.
