This is a delightful print of a portion of our Palisado Green by renowned artist and illustrator Barbara Van Winkelen who lived in Windsor for 60 years. She spent her life drawing, painting, and creating: it was her passion. She wrote and illustrated books and is listed in Who’s Who in American Art. Barbara ran Spindrift art gallery on Nantucket Island for 30 years. Her work hangs in numerous prestigious collections throughout the world. This print is from an original painted in 1983 to commemorate the 350th anniversary of Windsor, Connecticut’s oldest town, and depicts our Strong-Howard house, the Dr. Hezekiah Chaffee house, the Thomas Hooker house, and Montessori school in the back (previously the Chaffee School for Girls).
