In this recording, Carrie Marshall Kendrick (1883-1963), a nearly life-long resident of the Poquonock area of Windsor, CT, reads some prepared remarks and memoirs about this community. She mentions some of the earliest settlers of the Elm Grove section, the location of mills and homesteads, the traveling circus and minstrel shows, Old Newgate Prison, the Poquonock post offices, and William Allen the “Yeast Man.”
