CURRENT EXHIBIT: FOR THE COMMON GOOD
In commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Windsor Historical Society presents For the Common Good: 250 Years of Windsor Civic Life. This exhibit honors the bold, creative, and determined ways residents have shaped civic life, from organizing community festivals to leading movements for justice and equality. Through powerful stories and vivid images and artifacts, visitors will discover how generations of Windsorites have worked, protested, volunteered, and celebrated together to build a stronger, more inclusive community.
“For the Common Good invites our community to reflect on how generations of Windsor residents have shaped and sustained our civic institutions through participation, service, and shared responsibility,” said Carrie Taylor, executive director of Windsor Historical Society. “As we approach America’s 250th anniversary, this exhibit underscores that vibrant civic life is not guaranteed; it’s built locally by people who believed that contribution to the common good was both a right and responsibility.”
For the Common Good: 250 Years of Windsor Civic Life is available to experience via guided tours during regular museum hours, Wednesday-Saturday 11 PM to 4 PM.
Opened February 7, 2026. Free admission made possible through a grant from lead business sponsor Windsor Federal Bank.
