Please join us on July 17, 2109 at 10 a.m. for a close look at some pieces from our costume collections with Curator Kristen Wands. Her focus will be on clothing and accessories worn by people who lived within a few doors of the museum. The pieces date from about 1795 to around 1900.

You will become acquainted with individuals from the Nelson, Morgan, Ellsworth, Stiles, and Chaffee families. Examine their garments (wedding garb and shoes, a tea gown and other dresses, shirts, hair bracelets, a hat, and a cloak) and learn about construction and stylistic change over time.

Sometimes, family history passed down with collections items is not quite right. Wands will present forensic evidence that led her to slightly different conclusions about a few of the items you will study.

$6 adults, $5 seniors, $4 WHS members.

This event is sold out.
