Windsor Historical Society’s auction is the first event of the holiday season with terrific items to bid on, a lovely and delicious sit-down meal with a choice of beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages. There will be many opportunities to catch up with old friends and meet new ones, as well as a host of wonderful opportunities to bid on.
What makes a house a home? Pick up beautiful heirloom quilts, sweet little Victorian chairs, a Hitchcock rocker and mirror, and vintage glassware and ceramics. Fall in love with exquisite jewelry, prints, and art photographs crafted by our community’s finest artists. Toys for the grandkids? Absolutely. For folks who don’t want more “stuff” in their homes, we have an African safari, certificates for our area’s finest restaurants and hotels, cultural attractions, theater and sports events – something for everyone!
Check out our list of auction items, which is growing every day.
This year’s affair will be held at The Lodge at 130 Deerfield Road in Windsor on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 6 to 9 p.m. Tickets ($40 in advance, $45 at the door) are available online here, or in person at:
- Windsor Historical Society, 96 Palisado Avenue
- Ashleys’ Distinctive Jewelry, 555 Day Hill Road
- Jordan Florist, 10 Palisado Avenue
- Windsor Federal Savings’ Central Branch, 250 Broad Street
There’s always a chance for screaming bargains – that is part of the fun! But there’s also a chance to feel good by doing good: finding that memorable gift for a friend or loved one, sponsoring a Windsor family in need, or by contributing to a fund that subsidizes school bus transportation to the Society where growing numbers of students enjoy the Society’s innovative programs. And know that your attendance and your bids support The Society’s many programs for school, family, and adult audiences!
Even if you can’t attend, please consider making a donation to support school buses to bring students to the Society. Each school bus costs at least $100, and this can mean the difference between a class coming to the Society for a program, or passing it up. All gifts will be acknowledged by letter, on our website, and in our auction book.
