The Windsor Historical Society invites veterans and civilians to honor Windsorís servicemen past and present this Memorial Day, May 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the free public opening of the Societyís new exhibition: Over There: Windsor and World War I. The exhibition uses objects and images from the Windsor Historical Society rich collection to examine Windsorís contributions to World War I at home, on the battlefield, and in military posts around the US.  Guests will also have the opportunity to write letters of support to soldiers currently stationed overseas and enjoy light refreshments during a short reception.

Over There, which runs through Veteranís Day, November 11, 2007, features a variety of World War I military uniforms and equipment, draft notices, war bonds, photographs, propaganda posters, wartime correspondence, and much more. Using this collection of personal and town objects, the show brings Windsor into the worldwide story of the ďWar to End All WarsĒ and its legacy.

The exhibition opening and reception will follow immediately after Windsorís Memorial Day ceremonies.  The event is free and no reservations are required. Donít miss this special opportunity to share Windsorís proud military history and say thank you to troops serving today.
