Victorian Tea and Performance
Windsor Historical Society and Windsor Women’s Club are hosting a Victorian luncheon and tea combined with a performance by actress Kandie Carle on Saturday, November 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a second tea sitting from 4 to 5:30 p.m. You are invited! Beginning with delicious tea sandwiches, sweets, and Red Rose teas, actress and historian Kandie Carle will bring her widely acclaimed “Victorian Lady” show to the Windsor Historical Society. This event is held in conjunction with the Windsor Chamber of Commerce’s Red Rose Tea Fair.
Ms. Carle’s program starts as she dons undergarments – the corseting, bustles and petticoats that gave Victorian-era dresses their shape. Clothing, accessories (fans, jewelry, hats, the contents of a lady’s purse), the role of servants in the Victorian household, manners, and customs of the era will be shown. Ms. Carle will also talk about inventions of the era, home life, and life in the workplace. The program is lively -- a delightful mix of facts, humor and history. Last year’s luncheon and tea were sellouts.
Cost for the tea is $25.00; $22.50 for Windsor Historical Society or Windsor Women’s Club members. Tickets for both settings are still available at the Windsor Historical Society. Reservations MUST be made for this program. Call the Windsor Historical Society at 688-3813, extension 102 to make yours!
