Windsor Anniversary Lecture:  1633, The Setting for the Plymouth Trading Post

October 4       7 PM – 8:30 PM

More back-story behind Windsor’s founding on September 26, 1633.  Al Boehm’s program at Windsor Historical Society is based on his research for Windsor Exchange Club’s phone book cover art in 2008, Windsor’s 375th birthday.   Boehm’s research and art reveals a landscape based on native Algonquian land management practices quite different from the European practices that define our town landscape today.  The landscape provides a backdrop for the journey from Plymouth to Windsor aboard a shallop.  What was a shallop?  How was it powered and crewed?  What clothes would the crew and first settlers be wearing? Last year’s presentation by Al Boehm was standing-room-only, so come early.  COST: $6 adults, $5 seniors and students, $4 members. 860-688-3813  for more information.
