Significant Objects Writing Contest Winners

for 2014

At 9 p.m. on November 16th, voting ended for the Windsor Historical Society’s 3rd Annual Significant Objects Writing Contest. The Society asked authors to submit 500-word entries in any genre that connected the town of Windsor and an 18th-century style pocket watch. Of the forty-three submissions, the Society selected five to be posted on their Facebook page for public voting. Those entries included fiction, non-fiction, and poetry and showed a creative use of language, a strong connection to Windsor, and overall quality. The public cast votes between October 28th and November 16th by ‘liking’ their favorite of the five entries. Their creative submissions are testaments to the fact that all objects have stories to share.

1st Place - Michael DeStefano

2nd Place - Marian McDonald

3rd Place - Jessica Thomas-Jaymes
