Tour of Riverside Cemetery

Tour of Riverside Cemetery with Windsor Historical Society Director Christine Ermenc.  Riverside Cemetery, established 1864 is the last resting place of Windsor residents who served in Connecticut’s 29th Colored Regiment during the Civil War, and four soldiers who perished in the infamous Andersonville prison.  Learn more about these men and other Windsorites buried in this small but significant Windsor cemetery and about the stones marking their graves.  Cost: $6 adults, $5 seniors and students, WHS members $4. For more information, contact the Society at 860/688-3813.  Meet at the entrance to Riverview Cemetery, East Street.  In the event of heavy rain or thunderstorm, tour will be held July 28 at 2 PM.
